Flooding

For those of you who live nowhere near us, over the last month we have had record snowfall which had the city completely shut down. The kids and I were stranded at home (Evan was in Texas for the month of December) for a week until my parents came, dug us out and let us hunker down at their house for Christmas week.

The City of Monroe really let us down by not plowing for TWO WEEKS, almost completely disabling the entire town.

Last week we had a 100 year flood (our second in 2 years, d'oh!) as the snow melted and the rains began.

If you double click on this picture and follow the trail of little red squares, you will see the outline of where the river where we live is supposed to be...

Goodness, I know your home (not house now it comes complete with dog) is near water. Is your home in danger of flooding?

our home is located in an area that once was a flood plane, but they built the pond we live on to alleviate that. The pond has done its job well! :) We are very fortunate.
