All the photos from Christmas were on Evan's camera, so today I decided to dig it out and download them myself. We didn't get many photos of the day because we were too busy playing!
We spent the morning at our house. Eliot woke up so sad, certain that Santa hadn't come. It took some convincing, and finally had to prove it to her by bringing the kids downstairs to view the madness that Santa had left in the living room.
Needless to say, ecstasy was the word for the day!
At noon we headed out to Granny and Grandpa's house for a glorious Christmas gathering with family. The kids adore their Aunties and Uncles and Grandparents, but the icing on the Christmas cake was definitely getting to spend an entire afternoon with the cousins!
Eliot and big girl cousin Brooke are kindred spirits with their love of horses and the big boy cousins are big, and loud, and fast ~ which can't be beat!
You can't do better than getting a drum, whistle and cymbals! Both kids got a drum full of instruments. We spent the morning at our house. Eliot woke up so sad, certain that Santa hadn't come. How many toys can I play with at the same time?!
Evan and Bret spending some time reading Family Fun while snuggling on Jean's couch during a post Christmas gathering on Whidbey Island.
I would love to post images of all the wonderful gifts the kids received, but quite frankly I am embarrassed by the quantity. It is so fun to talk about the toys with the kids, pointing out who gave it to them, how people took the time to find wonderful things for them, wrap them with such care and many taken to the post office and mailed.
Eliot is old enough now to be more cognizant of the world around her and I thought developing a sense of gratitude would be a little challenging. But she has been quite grateful and appreciative of the effort people have put into making her holiday so special.
