Evan is almost through with a two week trip to Camp Lejeune in NC (the main base for the Marines). He is doing work similar to what he did in Puerto Rico, munitions response. This time he is looking for unexploded hand grenades.
He emailed me today "They start work and I have to stay more than 390 feet away because that is the greatest fragment distance for the grenades we are looking for. " geez, glad he's being safe. eek!
Actually, many of you don't know that as well as being an Environmental Engineer and Microbiologist he is a Miner. So, I am grateful that he is working this dangerous job above ground where at least the rescue crews can get to him if something happens.
It sounds like he is pretty bored, but did get a chance to visit his big brother and family over by Charlotte this weekend.
Can't wait for him to come hooooome!
