Basically, it sounds like although Tropical Storm Chris has turned into Hurricane Chris, luckily it's business end should miss Vieques (and PR).
When Evan planned his August trip we knew it would be during hurricane season so we were expecting this. But, I have to admit that I really don't like it at all and considerably more uncomfortable hearing about "Tropical Storms and Hurricanes" than I had originally thought.
"On its current projected path, Chris will pass a short distance north of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands during this afternoon and into the overnight hours. Radar out of San Juan, Puerto Rico is already showing the outer bands of Chris sweeping through the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico itself. These squalls will be accompanied with short-lived bouts of heavy rain and gusty winds. " 8/2/06
